Acute Breathing Difficulties
This interactive educational programme has been developed for health professionals encountering a child with an acute breathing difficulty. The programme includes basic anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system, providing a background to the clinical presentation.
The programme is not focused on one diagnosis but aims to mirror real life by taking you through the presenting clinical signs and symptoms until a diagnosis is reached. The aim is not to include an exhaustive list of differential diagnoses but to highlight common diagnoses and their related clinical presentation.
The program includes an online assessment which can contribute to continued professional development, video clips of children with a variety of respiratory diagnoses and evidence based information on the assessment and management of children.
Learners and teachers will find this an exciting evidence based adjuvant to their current educational experience.
